Q and A with Eric

Why Dartmouth?

-Dartmouth is an awesome school with an awesome ski team.  After visiting, I knew I didn't want to go anywhere else.

How long have you been skiing and what got you interested in skiing?

-I've been skiing since I was 2 years old and started nordic racing when I was 12.  When I was a kid, my parents always took me out to the local hill and I really enjoyed being outside and on snow.  I guess I just naturally progressed into ski racing.

Have you won any academic or skiing awards recently?

Named to 2011 U23 World Championship Team
2010 NCAA Team
2010 World Junior Championship Team
2009, 2010 EISA All-East Team
Francis L. Town Scientific Prize for the class of 2012

Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.

-I actually started skiing as an alpine ski racer and raced gates for 4 years.  It wasn't really untill middle school that I switched to nordic.

What are your future plans, if any?

-I'm planning to go for a Masters degree in Engineering, but I hope to take several years off to ski race professionally before doing so.

What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?

-Hiking, running, road-biking, and other outdoorsy stuff around Hanover.
