 YOGA

ANUSARA INSPIRED YOGA (a-nu-sar-a), means flowing with Grace, flowing with Nature, following your heart.  Anusara yoga is a school of hatha yoga which unifies a life-affirming Tantric philosophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment.

Anusara yoga's remarkable growth is due in large part to its uplifting philosophy, epitomized by a "celebration of the heart" that looks for the good in all people and all things. Consequently, students of all levels of ability and yoga experience are honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. Ultimately, the student will leave an Anusara yoga class feeling better about him or herself, empowered by the revelation of his or her Divine nature.

Laurie Greenberg is an "Anusara Inspired Teacher" having over 500 hrs of training in the Anusara method.  She has studied with John Friend (founder of Anusara Yoga), Darrhen Rhodes, Sara Rose, Elena Brower, Desiree Rambaugh, Deb Neubauer, and many other "Certified Anusara Teachers". Her back ground as a Nurse Practitioner supports her safely guiding the student into the biomechanics of this method of yoga.  Laurie continues her own training toward full certification (see Anusara.com).

THE DANCE OF YOGA - In this class we'll weave together the common thread of the ancient  practice of yoga and the fluidity and freedom of contemporary movement. Working from our center, we'll explore balance and resistance and find the power of being fully grounded. Precise alignment and the rhythm of the breath will focus and refine our attention.  As we move through space, our heightened attention helps us listen to our bodies and hear those around us.  We focus our energies and are fully committed to each movement, each moment.  The music, the space, and the energy of those in it, inspire and reconnect us with the joy of dancing.  We move into stillness by ending with deep stretching, which brings us to a state of calmness and relaxation.
