Former standout setter Katie Hirsch returns to the Dartmouth women’s volleyball team as an assistant coach this season.
Hirsch etched her name in the Big Green record books over her four year career. During her senior season in 2007 she played in every match for the Big Green and led the squad in assists with 1,047. She was given her second All-Ivy award with a first-team nod and was selected all-tournament at the Crimson Classic. Hirsch finished her career second all-time in both assists with 3,197 and service aces with 133. She is also ranked seventh in career digs with 962.
Hirsch returns to Hanover after attending a three-month environmental studies FSP to South Africa. She returned to Texas in December and began coaching a club volleyball team in Austin. Hirsch also traveled with head coach Ann Marie Larese to Austria and Italy in June, competing in the 2009 Eurosmash Volleyball Tour.
