HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team went a combined 14-0 in singles and doubles on the first day of the Big Green Invite at the Boss Tennis Center yesterday evening.

All but one Dartmouth player won in straight sets, led by junior Molly Scott (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) who beat Ira Aleksova of St. John's, 6-0, 6-1. Freshman Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.) also won convincingly with a 6-1, 6-3, victory over another Red Storm competitor in Joanna Zwirbulis. Senior captain Julia Zak (Bernardsville, N.J.) kept the wins coming with another straight-set victory over St. John's at 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles, Scott and senior Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) had no trouble against St. John's as the pair cruised to an 8-2 win. Zak and senior captain Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) duplicated Scott and Winingham with an 8-2 win again over St. John's, while Leonard and sophomore Carissa King (Charlotte, N.C.) combined for an 8-6 win to give the Big Green its third doubles win of the day. Dartmouth would end up winning five doubles matches during day one.

Play resumes on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. from the Boss Tennis Center.
