HANOVER, N.H. - For the first time in 10 years, the Dartmouth equestrian team won the All-Ivy Invitational on Saturday, finishing three points ahead of runner-up Brown. The show was held at the Big Green's Morton Farm and all of the Ivy schools except Harvard competed. Dartmouth earned 43 points with Brown second with 40. The field was rounded out by Penn 33, Cornell 32, Princeton 22, Columbia 18 and Yale 9. Dartmouth senior Tim Malone (Newtown, Conn.) earned blue ribbons in two events, open flat and open fences. On May 3-6, he will represent the Big Green at the IHSA national championship in Springfield, Mass. Also winning blue ribbons were freshman Samantha Parsons (Weston, Conn.), open fences; junior Daisy Freund (New York, N.Y.), open flat; junior Jeanie Lau (Hong Kong), novice flat, and senior Ashley Hannebrink (Los Altos Hills, Calif.), intermediate flat. In the championship classes, which did not count toward the team score, Parsons won open fences; Freund topped the field in open flat; freshman Chesa Bochner (New York, N.Y.) won walk trot canter; and senior Kaity Wallace (Dalton, Mass.) took walk trot. |
