Ivy League Release
HANOVER, N.H. - Senior Jimmy Mullen (Mt. Lebanon, Pa.) earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors after netting four goals, including the game-winner in the overtime win against Hartford.
In an 11-10 overtime win for the Big Green in its season opener at Hartford on Saturday, Mullen started his season with a bang, scoring four goals. He tallied the game-winner with six seconds remaining in overtime and added a man up goal in the win. All four of Mullen’s goals came unassisted.
Mullen was not the only one honored this week as freshman Kip Dooley (Minneapolis, Minn.) was named to the first honor roll of the season.
In his first game in a Dartmouth uniform, Dooley did not disappoint with three goals and an assist for four points in an 11-10 overtime win for the Big Green against Hartford. He got the scoring started for Dartmouth with the first goal of the season. Gave the Big Green its first lead of the game at 9-8 with his third goal of the game in the fourth quarter. His lone assist came on the goal before, which tied the game at 8-8.
Dartmouth opens its 2009 home schedule tomorrow afternoon as the Big Green host Division I newcomer, Bryant University at 3 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field.
