Brown was not to be denied as the sophomore bounced back to win the next two easily, 9-2 and 9-2. After the loss to Loucks, Brown moved onto the consolation round and was downed in her first match by Elena Laird of Bowdoin. Laird won the first game rather easily, 9-1 but Brown made her work for the second game as Laird won, 10-8. Brown bounced back in Game Three, winning 9-7 before falling the in the fourth and deciding game, 9-2. Ashley Malenchak (Portage la Prairie, Minn.) competed in the Ramsay Cup-Main Draw taking on Jackie Moss of Princeton. Malenchak then moved onto the Ramsay Second Round Consolation taking on Lily Lorentzen of Stanford but the Dartmouth tri-captain was unable to secure the win, losing 9-0, 9-7 and 9-3. |
