HANOVER, N.H. Dartmouth baseball head coach Bob Whalen was named the New England Coach of the Year by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association after leading the Big Green to the No. 1 ranking in the region.

Whalen coached Dartmouth to a 25-17 record this season, along with a 15-5 mark in Ivy League play. The Big Green won its fourth Red Rolfe Division title since 2000, before falling to Columbia in the Ivy League Championship.

Senior co-captain Damon Wright (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore Nick Santomauro (North Caldwell, N.J.) were placed on the All-New England first team as two of three outfielders selected to the team. Wright was named first team All-Ivy this season and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player. Santomauro was selected first team All-Ivy for the second consecutive season and given the best offensive player award by his teammates.

Junior Michael Pagliarulo (Winchester, Mass.) had a breakout season for the Big Green and was named to the All-New England Second Team at first base. He also was voted Dartmouth's most improved player and earned a first team All-Ivy selection for the first time in his career.
