The men's track and field/cross country teams have announced the Class of 2011 recruits who have accepted early decision to Dartmouth.
New Hampshire star David Irving joins the team from Manchester, N.H. He is the top discus thrower in the state and has already thrown 160-0. He has great size at 6-8 and 230 pounds. Another top discus star joins the Big Green from Wheat Ridge, Colo. Kane Kunz, in his first year throwing the discus has already reached 167 feet and his potential is unlimited. He is also athletic at 6-2 and 210. Ben Bramhall comes to Dartmouth from Phillips Andover Academy. He was the team's top cross country runner and will be favored to win the NEPSA 1500 this spring. He has already run 4:05 for that distance. Corey DeWitt is the latest in a long line of distance runners from Maine who have come to Dartmouth. Corey runs for Ellsworth HS and he earned All-State honors last fall in cross country. In track, he will be favored to win the state title in the mile where he has clocked 4:22. He plays basketball in the winter and scored his 1000th point this season. Tom Robbins was recruited by every Ivy school this year. He has had a sensational career at Loyola Academy in Chicago. He was All-State in cross country after placing sixth at the Illinois state meet. He is even better on the track where he ran 1:53 for the 800 as a junior. He could be an All-Ivy performer as a freshman. |
