HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth softball team, fresh off its best Ivy season to date, had three named All-Ivy as announced today. Freshmen Alyssa Parker (Spring Valley, Calif.) was named to the first team while classmate Nikki Yee (Martinez, Calif.) along with senior Kelly Fry (Marietta, Ga.) were honorable mention.
Parker earns her first league award after helping her squad to an overall record of 16-24, 11-9 in the Ivy League. She was the Big Green's top-hitting rookie, batting .306. She played in all 40 games playing mainly at first base. Parker collected 34 hits and 15 runs while knocking three doubles. She led the team in home runs with six and RBIs with 24. In the final series of the season against travel partner Harvard, Parker collected four hits with two runs and four RBIs as Dartmouth finished second to the Crimson in the North Division.
Fry earned her fourth league award with her honorable mention selection. She was honorable mention as a junior and freshman while being chosen second team as a sophomore. Fry is also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America after being named first team All-District. The co-captain was the Big Green's designated player but she also saw time catching and at third base. She finished the season as the team leader in batting (.368), slugging percentage (.581) and on-base percentage (.427). She was second in the Ivy League in batting, fifth in slugging and fourth in on-base percentage.
Fry hit four home runs this season becoming Dartmouth's all-time career home run leader. She also became the school's RBI leader while finishing her career fifth in average, sixth in runs, second in doubles and seventh in walks.
Yee also earns her first collegiate award. The freshman outfielder was third in hitting with a .274 average. She was one of Dartmouth's top sac hitters with five while having three stolen bases.
