Rob Morgan

    Rob Morgan returns to the Dartmouth bench for his sixth season and first as the Associate Head Coach for the Big Green. He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the coaching, having headed numerous programs in Alberta since 1994.
        Prior to coaching the Big Green, Morgan spent time as the head hockey coach at North Country Community College in Saranac Lake, N.Y. Morgan led North Country to the 2003 NEWCHA championship with a 15-4-1 record. During the 2001-02 season Morgan was the head coach of the Medicine Hat Hawks of the AMMFHL. That season he was selected to coach one of eight zone teams for the Alberta Winter Games, where his team went undefeated and captured the gold medal. At the conclusion of the Winter Games he was selected to coach at the 2002 Program of Excellence U-19 Camp in Calgary, Alta. Morgan is also actively involved with youth hockey programs and development camps in the upper valley of New Hampshire.
    In 2000-01, while on sabbatical to complete his master’s of education at the University of Lethbridge, he was appointed head coach of the women’s hockey team that competed in the Canada West Universities Athletics Association. He finished with an overall record of 16-11-3, fourth in Canada West and ranked 11th nationally. That year he was also named the Canada West Hockey Coach of the Year.
    Prior to coaching women’s hockey, Morgan was an assistant coach with the Medicine Hat Midget ‘AAA’ Tigers for three years and one year with the Edmonton Bantam ‘AAA’ Athletics. Additionally, he was selected to coach in the Hockey Alberta Cup Program as a head coach in 1998 and 2000 and an assistant coach in 1999. His team advanced to the championship final all three years, and each year he was selected to coach at Hockey Alberta’s U-16 Program of Excellence.
    Morgan earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta in 1992 and holds a master of education degree from the University of Lethbridge.
