Summer 2010

Thank you for your interest in the Dartmouth Summer Sailing Facility for the 2010 season.. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member at these inexpensive family friendly rates.

The following pages of information will give you a feel for the facility and programs. Please take a few moments to carefully read through this material with your family. Our summer sailing fleet consists of: 3 - Rhodes 19', 1-19' Lightning, 12 - Lasers, 6 -FJ's, 2-420’s and a Hobie 16’. These boats are available to the members who are “Skipper Qualified” without a fee. A beautiful secluded beach, gradual drop off swim space, BBQ grills, picnic area, instructional programs, and changing/restroom facilities rounds out the amenities. A friendly, casual atmosphere is enhanced by the breathtaking sunsets over the Lake. It is requested that you make your summer plans early and return the enclosed application as soon as possible. Once the maximum membership cap has been reached, a waiting list will be started for the 2011 season. If you think that any of your family friends might be interested in joining you for the summer, please encourage them to do so soon. Please don't delay, as all membership applications will have first come, first serve priority.

Season

The Dartmouth Summer Sailing Facility will open on a full-time basis beginning Father’s day, Sunday, June 20th, and will operate through Labor Day Monday, September 6th. The hours of operation will be from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM during June and July and from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM for the months of August and September. All boats (including privately owned) must be off the water one-hour prior to the posted closing time. For your protection, the facilities are to be used only during posted dates and hours of operation. In the event of inclement weather, regular hours may be modified without notice. As this can happen suddenly and is sometimes localized, it is best to phone ahead if the weather appears questionable.

Moorings and On Site Boat Storage

Moorings and dry land storage of personally owned sail boats will again be available this year. You must provide your signed storage agreement prior to bringing any equipment to the facility. Any mooring request will be required to provide their own anchoring system and must be approved and located assigned by the Facilitity Manager. All boats must display NH registration before launching. All personally owned boats or other equipment must be removed from the facility no later than 12:00 noon September 5, 2010.

Guest Policy: Family Memberships ONLY

It is our desire for you to bring your out-of- town guests, visiting family, as well as local friends and children's play mates to enjoy the lake. It is asked that you sign in the number of members and guests in your party on the clipboard by the boathouse. There are no additional fees for your guests. It is important to maintain the value of your membership to the facility, so it is requested that local families that accompany you on a repetitive basis be encouraged to become members themselves.

Please note that single memberships are considered individual memberships and do not offer guest privileges to friends, immediate family and household members. As always, your out-of-town guests are most welcome to join you for the day!

If you would like to join us at the Dartmouth Summer Sailing Facility for the 2010 season, please complete and return the forms on this website with your check payable to Dartmouth College. Save $25.00 and return by 5/29/10 to:
