Television Schedule Announced for Football Season

HANOVER, N.H. — The Ivy League today announced its national television package for the 2017 football season with 23 games across five different networks with at least one national broadcast each week of the conference's season. The Dartmouth football team will be featured four times, including two Friday night contests on NBC Sports Network.

The four Big Green games to be shown nationally are the Ivy League opener in Philadelphia against defending co-champ Penn, a home bout versus Columbia on Eleven Sports, a road contest at Harvard on NESN and a historic showdown with Brown at Fenway Park.

The game against the Quakers will mark the eighth televised matchup in the last decade between the two, but first at Franklin Field since 2010, with NBCSN airing the action on Friday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. The Big Green had their modest two-game win streak against Penn snapped last year in a 37-24 defeat in Hanover, and the two teams were part of a three-way tie for the Ivy League title in 2015. Since the conference first started play in 1956, Dartmouth is 28-33 against the Quakers, but just 1-11 in televised games with the lone victory coming at Memorial Field three years ago.

The Big Green host Columbia on Oct. 21 at 12:30 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast by Eleven Sports. This is the second straight year this contest will be televised, but just fifth overall with the two teams splitting the first four. The Lions won a wind-blown, 9-7 game in New York last year, but Dartmouth has a 51-9-1 record against them since the inception of the Ivy League and a 68-18-1 mark in the all-time series.

The following week, the Green travel to Harvard for a regional game at noon on NESN for the seventh televised game in the series in the last 10 years and 20th overall. Dartmouth has fallen to the Crimson in each of the last 13 contests and is 6-12-1 in games broadcast on TV, dropping the last six. This is the Big Green football team's first appearance on NESN in seven years.

Finally, Dartmouth will wrap up its television slate with its first game at Fenway Park in 73 years when Brown hosts the Big Green at the venerated venue on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. on NBCSN. The two teams are 3-3 against each other on TV, including last year's 24-21 Bears victory in Hanover. Dartmouth is 5-1 all-time at Fenway Park, however, and 2-0 there against Brown with victories in 1922 and '23. In 94 meetings that date back to 1894, the Green are 58-32-4 against the Bears.

All 10 Dartmouth games this season will be available live online as well, six of which will be available on the Ivy League Network (ILN). The opener at Stetson on Sept. 16 — the Big Green's first game ever in the state of Florida — will be streamed on the host team's Hatter Vision, and the other non-conference road game at Sacred Heart on Oct. 14 will be available on NEC Front Row. While the Penn and Brown games will be streamed through the NBC Sports website, each of the other six Dartmouth contests will be available live on the ILN, including the games broadcast by Eleven Sports and NESN.
