HANOVER, N.H. – On Friday, Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Swim and Dive programs
Milana Socha announced Savannah DuPuis will join the staff as an assistant coach. Her first day will be Friday, June 21.
"Savannah's energy and ability to build meaningful connections really stood out in the hiring process," Socha said. "She is going to be a great asset to our coaching staff in so many ways, from her on deck presence, knowledge base, and psychology background, to her organization and attention to the behind-the-scenes administrative side of coaching. She will continue to elevate the program as we chase after excellence in the pool and on the boards. I look forward to welcoming her to The Woods and our team!"
DuPuis has spent the last year as an assistant coach at the University of California San Diego, helping with traditional coaching responsibilities as well as operations, recruiting, and equipment.
"I'm immensely thankful to Milana and the Dartmouth staff for this remarkable opportunity," DuPuis said. "When I first arrived on campus, I knew the Big Green was where I wanted to be. The surrounding beauty of Hanover, the dedication of the athletic department, and the pursuit of excellence honored by the athletes made my decision an easy one. I'm excited to bring my energy and passion to the pool deck! Thank you to the UCSD coaching staff and athletes for giving me a memorable year!"
Prior to California, she spent almost one year at Florida State Tallahassee, serving as a volunteer assistant coach. DuPuis helped manage meets, assist with video analysis and recruiting, and helped coach practices. While volunteering at Florida State Tallahassee, DuPuis also worked as an assistant coach at Club Seminole, serving as the primary coach or college aged swimmers. She created practice sets, provided technique corrections, and facilitated meetings with swimmers.
In addition to working with college aged swimmers, she has coached pre national and senior groups as a head coach and national groups as an assistant for The Swim Team Lake Forest, served as an assistant coach on the girls' varsity and junior varsity swim team at El Toro High School, as well as coached specific age group through national level at the Mission Viejo Nadadores.
Before getting into coaching, DuPuis completed an internship at Untapped Potential in Tempe, Arizona, learning about motivational sports psychology and assisting with creating treatment plans for clients.
DuPuis, who was a collegiate swimmer at the University of Kentucky Lexington, and Arizona State, completed her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on psychology and education from ASU in 2021.
