Big Green athletes come from all over the world. This week our spotlighted athletes both hail from the golden state of California, with Rachel McCarroll from San Jose and Tyler Cox from Valley Glen. Sophomore McCarroll pitched two complete games for the softball team in California. Meanwhile the baseball team was in Florida where Cox went 7-for-7 with a homer and three walks in two games at USF.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named The Richards Group Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Rachel McCarroll pitched a pair of complete games for the Big Green in matchups against Saint Mary's and Maine in California. The sophomore led Dartmouth's stellar defensive efforts against the Black Bears and Gaels to secure a pair of wins prior to Ivy League action this weekend.
McCarroll struck out five batters, allowing just one run in a complete game performance against Saint Mary's on March 17 in a 2-1 win. The following day, she pitched her first collegiate shutout, blanking Maine and lifting the Big Green to a 1-0 victory.
