HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth volleyball head coach
Gilad Doron has announced the hiring of Brandon Chan as an assistant coach. Chan was most recently a volunteer assistant beach volleyball coach at the University of Arizona.
Â
"I am excited to add Brandon to our program," Doron said. "He brings passion, energy and eagerness to learn and grow as a coach. His experience at Arizona, both for indoor and beach, will be beneficial in the gym and in the recruiting process. We are looking forward to continuing and building on what we started here and keep getting better with his addition."
Â
Chan has served as the volunteer assistant at Arizona since 2015, developing players in setting, attacking and serving, supervising and setting up the court, and calculating stats.
Â
In 2016, he also became the second assistant at Texas A&M, where he was responsible for planning travel, building scouting reports and assisting in the recruiting process.
Â
"First and foremost," Chan said, "I want to thank Coach Doron,
Bob Ceplikas and
Kristene Kelly for giving me this opportunity to serve Dartmouth athletics. I am honored to be part of one of the highest academic achieving programs in the country. I would also like to thank Arizona athletics for allowing me to grow my expertise as a young coach."
Â
Over the past seven years, Chan has worked as a club head coach, volleyball manager and a camp head coach, all at Arizona.
Â
Chan graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with a degree in psychology.
