HANOVER, N.H. -- - Sophomore Charles Ganske had one rushing TD and a touchdown catch, leading the Dartmouth junior varsity football team to a 14-12 victory over Bridgton Academy on Sunday, October 5.
Dartmouth built a 14-0 lead that included a pair of PATs by sophomore Erik Hinterbichler before Bridgton scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
The Pea Green's first touchdown was set up by junior Royce Novosel-Johnson's interception. Freshman quarterback Mike Fritz found freshman wide receiver Sam McDonald over the middle for a 26-yard completion. Ganske took it in from the two-yard line for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Dartmouth's other touchdown came in the third quarter and was the result of a three-yard pass from junior quarterback Brendan Day to Ganske.
The Big Green's defense was solid throughout the afternoon as sophomore linebackers Chase Bower and Terry Cunningham led a unit that forced Bridgton into three turnovers.
Freshman defensive back Mike Markelz sealed the Dartmouth win with an interception in the end zone as time expired.
