HANOVER, N.H. -- Dartmouth senior Chris Little rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown, but it wasn't enough as the Yale Bulldogs defeated the Big Green, 24-14, on Memorial Field.
The Big Green (0-4, 0-2 Ivy) stayed close throughout until Ralph Plumb's two-yard catch from Alvin Cowan gave Yale a 10-point lead, 24-14, with 8:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.
On a 26-yard touchdown reception, Dartmouth's Bob Murphy started the Big Green off with a 7-0 advantage midway through the first quarter before Yale (3-1, 1-1 Ivy) answered when Chandler Henley grabbed a 37-yard scoring pass.
Early in the second quarter, Andrew Sullivan's 26 yard field goal put the Bulldogs ahead with a 10-7 lead that didn't change until midway through the third period.

About four minutes later, Little scored his touchdown, keeping Dartmouth within distance, 17-14.
For the Big Green, Murphy, a senior wide receiver, finished with a career-high 109 yards receiving on five catches. His long of the day, a 46-yarder, helped the Big Green get to the Yale 22 with less than a minute to go, but the drive died in the end zone with a Bulldog interception.
Junior quarterback Charlie Rittgers completed 15 of 31 passes for 246 yards, but he was intercepted three times on the day.
Freshman Steve Hunt made an impact as a punt returner in his varsity debut, returning four balls for 50 yards, including a long of 28. Junior linebacker Josh Dooley had nine tackles and one interception.
Dartmouth returns to action on Saturday, October 16, hosting Holy Cross at Memorial Field. Game time is 12:30 p.m.
