HANOVER, N.H. -- - Sarah Clark's goal with 5:09 remaining in the third period gave Dartmouth a 3-2 victory over Brown and the 2004 Ivy League Championship.
Now 7-1-1 in the Ivy League with 15 points, the Big Green claimed its first Ivy League title since the 2001-02 season and the eighth in school history.
The game was pivotal for other reasons, too. With home ice on the line for the upcoming first round of the ECAC Championship, Dartmouth improved to 12-3-1 in the conference, staying within one point of Harvard and St. Lawrence who are knotted with 26 points at the top.
"This was a tough game and we faced a lot of adversity coming into the weekend," said Dartmouth coach Mark Hudak. "A lot of people stepped up. I thought the goalies both nights did outstanding jobs, and at different points at different times, several individuals stepped up."

It was more of the same against the Bears.
After Brown's Myria Heinhuis scored with 5:21 left in the third period to make it 2-2, Clark potted the gamewinner 12 seconds later.
The Bears, 15-9-2 overall, 11-4-1 ECAC, took a 1-0 lead less than eight minutes into the game on a Jessica Link goal. Dartmouth's Lydia Wheatley scored on a deflection four minutes later to make it 1-1.
After a scoreless second period, Apps gave Dartmouth a 2-1 advantage with 10:45 to go before Brown came back to tie it.
In the nets for Dartmouth was sophomore Kate Lane who made 26 saves on the afternoon. For Brown, Katie Germain stopped 21 shots.
With an overall record of 20-5-2, Dartmouth reached 20 victories for the fifth year in a row and the seventh time in the last nine years. The Big Green is on the road next weekend, closing the regular season with games at Cornell and Colgate on Saturday and Sunday.
