UP CLOSENo. 18 Mike FritzBackground: Mike Fritz is a hard-luck quarterback who saw the 2004 and 2005 seasons cut short by hand injuries. In his first varsity start against New Hampshire, this Houston, Texas native completed 15 of 23 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He also gained 36 yards rushing. Fritz was first team All-District and third in the 5A Greater Houston area with 1,670 yards passing as a senior. He was named team MVP and chosen to the 5A All-State scholastic second team.
