PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team dropped their fourth Ivy League meet of the season on Sunday, as they fell to the Princeton Tigers, 219-74.
The Big Green started off the afternoon winning the days first event; the 275 medley relay. Lizzie Rippe (Colleyville, Texas), who was part of the medley team, won her own individual event, taking first in the 50 yard butterfly. Rippe also finished fourth in the 200 freestyle.
Younger sister, Carolyn Rippe (Colleyville, Texas) took second in the 50 yard backstroke. In her last event of the day, Rippe finished third on her team in the 200 individual medley.
Senior captain Melissa Kern (Saltsburg, Pa.) placed fifth in the 100 backstroke and the 200 freestyle. Kern also was on a 600 yard freestyle relay team that took home second place.
On the boards, freshman Kathleen Brady (Upland, Calif.) placed third in the three-meter diving event, while Julianne Mifflin (Greenwich, Conn.) finished third on the one-meter board.
The team will swim again in the Ivy Championships on February 15, on the Princeton campus.
