NEWTON CENTER, Mass. - Senior
Daisy Freund (New York, N.Y.) was the high point rider at the Mt. Ida show on Sunday, October 28, leading Dartmouth to victory over eight other schools.
The Big Green was first with 47 points, followed by Mt. Ida with 41 and Vermont with 34.
Along with senior
Lily Macartney (Evergreen, Colo.) and senior
Karelle Hall (Shaker Heights, Ohio), Freund won a pair of blue ribbons. Freund topped the competition in open fences and open flat, while Macartney was first in intermediate fences and intermediate flat. Hall won novice flat and novice fences.
Four other Dartmouth riders were first in their respective classes, including senior
Kate Wooler (Rehoboth, Mass.) in open flat. Also victorious were junior
Amanda Watson (Charlottesville, Va.) in novice fences, junior
Alaina Smith (Spokane, Wash.) in novice flat, and junior
Erica Anhalt (Guilford, Conn.) in walk-trot-canter.
The Big Green wraps up the fall season on Sunday, November 4, traveling to a show hosted by the University of New Hampshire.
