Hanover, N.H. ? Dartmouth women's tennis juniors
Natalie O'Rourke (Wellington, New Zealand) and
Megan Zebroski (Port Washington, N.Y.) have been named to the All-Ivy first team for doubles.
O'Rourke and Zebroski were paired up prior to the start of Ivy play for Dartmouth and the duo went 4-3 at No. 1 singles with wins over Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Columbia.
Dartmouth has also announced its team awards for the season. Freshmen
Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) and
Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) shared the Most Valuable Player award for their efforts in their first season of collegiate tennis. Adler posted 12 victories in the season, including three Ivy wins, playing mostly at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Winingham was solid in singles and doubles for the Big Green, playing from No. 1 to No. 3 singles and earning the majority of her victories at the No. 2 spot. Injuries limited her to just four Ivy match appearances.
Fellow rookie
Julia Zak (Bernardsville, N.J.) received the team's Most Improved Award after a solid freshman year. While she was not in the top-six in Ivy play, Zak had an impressive fall season and excelled in several exhibition matches throughout the year. She earned a 6-3, 6-2 win in her first collegiate dual match appearance as Dartmouth defeated Albany earlier this season.
Senior co-captain
Kerry Snow (Sartell, Minn.) was given the Class of 1985 Spirit Award for her leadership and intangibles as a teammate.
Dartmouth has also named its captains for the 2007-08 campaign. Zabroski will join fellow juniors
Catja Carrell (Benshelm, Germany) and
Maggie Suydam (Marblehead, Mass.) as team tri-captains when they are seniors next year.
