REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: 8 races were completed in a Northerly before the breeze shut off. 44 more races were sailed starting at 1:30 when the sea breeze filled. 3 races needed to complete the round robin. Format Sunday will most likely split the group into a Gold 6 and Silver 5 teams for another single rotation. Thanks to our judges Peter Johns and Charlie Cook who were on the water for limited umpiring of which they made 8 calls on the water. 5 protests were heard at the end of the day resulting in 3 DSQ's changing only one races outcome.
Sunday: 3 races were completed in a dying northerly to finish the rotation. The teams were split into a 6 team gold and 5 team silver for a single rotation in each of those groups. All scores carry over from the first round. A nice sea breeze filled at 1:00 at 5-8 knots and then turned hard west. All races were the college style N-course. Thanks to our Judges Peter Johns and Charlie Cook once again for limited umpiring and hearing protests. Also special thanks to all the Coast Guard Cadets for running another great event.
