PRINCETON, N.J. ? Women's track and field competed today in the first day of the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University.
The field events saw junior
Emily Daly (Hopkinton, Mass.) and senior
Jessica Long (Lynn, Mass.) qualify for the ECAC meet, going third and fourth respectively in the hammer throw. Daly made a throw of 173-4, and Long threw the hammer for 172-7.
Both sophomore
Laura Tabor (Portsmouth, N.H.) and junior
Aryn Gruneisen (Erie, Pa.) set personal records by significant margins in their respective events. Tabor ran 11:02.65 in the steeplechase, while Gruneisen finished the 5000-meter run in 17:27.82. Senior
Erika Graham (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) also finished fifth in the pole vault, with a jump of 11-7.75.
The Invitational continues at Princeton tomorrow.
