REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: Mascoma Lake was not cooperative today. Teams sat in a postponement until 11:00 when a terrific Northerly filled. Two A races were held in 5-8 kts of breeze. The races took 18 and 16 minutes for the the winner to finish. Unfortunately the breeze died by the time B Division got out to the course. Several hours of frustrating conditions followed as the breeze would fail to settle in. Eventually, race 1B was held in a light Southerly. Racing was called for the day following that race. There was one protest heard by Erik Storck and Ben Sampson resulting in a DSQ. Hopefully we have better breeze tomorrow.
Sunday: Lack of wind frustrated all involved for most of the day. Finally, a NE breeze filled and race 2B put an end to one of the longest sets in college sailing history. The breeze held long enough to complete 2 more races in each division. Thanks to all the teams for their patience as we dealt with tough conditions all weekend. Erik Storck and Ben Sampson had their hands full today. Redress was rewarded to three teams due to RC error. Two protests were heard, resulting in three DSQs. One appeal was heard, resulting in no changes to the original decisions.
