BURLIGNTON, Vt. ? The Dartmouth equestrian team participated in the Vermont show this past Saturday, placing fourth out of 11 teams. But it was the performance of junior Samantha Parsons (Weston, Conn.) that had the team buzzing.
Parsons placed second in both open jumping and open flat, making her the high point rider for the region. As the high point rider, Parsons qualifies for the national championships held on April 23 at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
In addition, sophomore Danielle Stacy (Ipswich, Mass.) placed second in open jumping and third in open flat, senior
Amanda Watson (Charlottesville, Va.) came in third in intermediate flat, and senior
Erica Anhalt (Guilford, Conn.) finished third in novice flat.
The Big Green squad travels to the regional finals next Sunday, March 29, at Mt. Ida in Pembroke, Mass.
