HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth College and the New England Sports Network (NESN) have come to an agreement to televise the Big Green football game at Memorial Field against Harvard on Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m. The broadcast will be the second of three Dartmouth games to be shown on television this season, and the first of two on the Big Green's home field.
“We are thrilled to have our homecoming football game against Harvard shown on NESN,” commented Dartmouth Athletics Director
Harry Sheehy. “It will be a terrific showcase for the Ivy League and Dartmouth football. The entire Dartmouth community is very excited to have such an anticipated event televised regionally.”
This is the sixth time that NESN will broadcast a Dartmouth football game, and third time in Hanover. The first Big Green appearance on NESN came in 1996 for a thrilling 27-24 victory at Brown. Then in 2003, Dartmouth defeated Harvard in Cambridge, 30-16. After a loss at Yale in 2007, the Green were shown on NESN twice in 2008 — Yale and Harvard won each game — at Memorial Field.
The most recent Dartmouth televised game was a heartbreaker at Penn two weeks ago as Comcast aired the 35-28 overtime defeat. All told, the Big Green have a 24-45-1 record in 70 games on television.
