HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Dartmouth women's hockey team remained undefeated on the young season after winning its first road game at Colgate on Friday. The Big Green used six goals by six different players to achieve the 6-2 victory. Dartmouth improves to 3-0-0 overall and 3-0-0 in ECAC play. The Raiders fall to 3-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
Dartmouth used the second period to turn a tie game into a three-score advantage. Heading into the second, the two teams were tied at one, but the Big Green scored the first three goals to blow the game open. The Raiders responded with a goal at the end of the period to cut the lead to 4-2.
Dartmouth responded to Colgate's goal with even more offense. The Big Green added two more goals in the last frame to push the contest to its final score of 6-2. Three different players scored their first goal of the season, junior Reagan Fischer (Irma, Alta.), sophomore Sally Komarek (Minneapolis, Minn.) and junior Erica Dobos (Bethel Park, Pa.). Additionally, three different players added to their season totals in goals, senior Amanda Trunzo (Andover, Minn.) scored her third, Kelly Foley (Boston, Mass.) added her second and Sasha Nanji (Markham, Ont.) put in her second. Foley added two assists in the game to lead the team with three points.
Colgate fared better in power play situations, finishing two of five. The Big Green converted one of their five chances. Each team committed five penalties for 10 penalty minutes. Freshman Lindsay Holdcroft (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned her second win of the season, finishing with 17 saves.
The Big Green take on the second-ranked team in the nation when they travel to Cornell on Saturday, game time 4 p.m.
