Cornell won a fast race on Dartmouth's Connecticut River course with a slight tail current and no wind. The Big Red finished in a time of 5:30.6 ahead of Dartmouth in 5:31.2. It marked the third straight close race for the Big Green, which finished in a dead heat with Yale last Saturday and won by 3.2 seconds over Columbia.
Cornell also won the three other races on the day, including another close matchup in the second varsity eight race. The Big Red won it in 5:39.2 ahead of the Green in 5:42.8.
Dartmouth's rookie boats both faltered against the Big Red, with Cornell winning the first novice eight race in 5:36.7 ahead of Dartmouth in 5:43.4. The Big Red won the second novice eight in 5:57.9 with the Big Green second in 6:07.6.
That was Dartmouth's last tune-up race before heading to Worcester, Mass. on May 16 for Eastern Sprints.
