The Dartmouth College men's soccer team (5-4-2, 2-1-0 Ivy League) continues its Ivy League schedule with a Homecoming matchup with Columbia (5-6-1, 2-1-0 Ivy League) on Saturday (Oct. 22) at 4:00 p.m. at Burnham Field. The game is the first of two soccer games that day with the Dartmouth women taking on Columbia at 7:00 p.m.

BIG GREEN TIDBITS
Back to Burnham - The men's soccer team returns to Burnham Field after spending the last two weekend's on the road. This season, the Big Green have a 4-1-1 record at home and are undefeated at Burnham Field in its last five home contests and is currently on a three-game home win streak.
Ivy League Showdown - Saturday's game between the Big Green and Lions will have major Ivy League implications. Dartmouth and Columbia are two of four teams tied for second place in the Ivy League standings. Brown and Yale are the other teams with 2-1-0 Ivy League records. The Big Green still has games remaining against Harvard, Cornell and Brown and somewhat control their own fate.
Dzierzawski Named DartmouthSports.com Student-Athlete of the Week - Junior midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) earned DartmouthSports.com Student-Athlete of the Week after his performance in Dartmouth's win over Yale last weekend. Dzierzawski picked up his fifth assist on the season against the Bulldogs and has eight points in Dartmouth's last five games, including back-to-back game winning goals against UMass and Princeton.
Mkosana Back on Track - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) got back on track with a goal against Penn in Dartmouth's last outing. The senior captain has now scored in seven of Dartmouth's last nine games. Mkosana was held scoreless against Yale for just the fourth time this season and for the first time in five games.
Dzierzawski Stepping Up - Junior midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) has been on fire in the midfield as of late. Dzierzawski has tallied points in four of Dartmouth's last five games and added a goal and an assist in Dartmouth's win over Princeton (Oct. 1).
Big Green Pick up Win No. 500 - The Dartmouth men's soccer team picked up the program's 500th victory with its 2-1 win over Penn in its last outing. Currently, the Big Green has a 500-447-109 all-time record. The Big Green will go for win No. 501 against the Lions on Saturday (Oct. 22).
Cook Approaching 100 Wins -- Head coach Jeff Cook entered the 2011 season with 89 career wins as Dartmouth head coach and is poised to become just the second coach in Dartmouth men's soccer history to reach the 100-win plateau. Thomas Dent, Dartmouth's longest tenured coach, is Dartmouth's all-time winningest coach with 143 career wins in 35 years. After a win over Penn, Cook is sitting at 94 all-time wins at Dartmouth. The earliest, Cook can reach the 100-win mark is against Brown on Nov. 12
Big Green Players in the Ivy League Rankings - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and junior midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) are both ranked in the Ivy League rankings. Mkosana leads the league in points per game (1.55), goals (0.73) and goals per game (0.73). He ranks second in shots per game (4.27) and is third in total shots (47) and points (18). While Dzierzawski ranks second in assists (5) and assists per game (0.45).
Lucky in the National Rankings - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) ranks No. 20 nationally in goals per game (0.73).Mkosana entered the national rankings last week.
Mkosana Moving Up the Charts - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) is moving up the all-time scoring charts in his senior campaign. He currently sits at No. 2 on Dartmouth's all-time scoring list with 32 career goals and his 18 points this season place him No. 2 on Dartmouth's all-time points list with 75 career points. Mkosana is on pace to become Dartmouth's all-time scoring leader as well as Dartmouth's all-time points leader. Should Mkosana break the career goals record he will pass Bob Drawbaugh's who played from 1951-53 and should be break the points record he will move ahead of Vladdy Stanojevic who played from 1986-89.
Captain My Captain - Seniors Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and Nick Pappas (Scottsdale, Ariz.) have been named captains this season. The duo will wear the captain's armband for the Big Green throughout the season.
Looking at Columbia - Columbia enters Saturday's game with a 5-6-1, 2-1-0 Ivy League record after defeating Princeton, 2-1, on Saturday (Oct. 15). The Big Green own a 23-22-7 series advantage and have lost each of the last two games with the Lions but prior to the 2009 season, had won five straight against Columbia. Will Stamatis leads the Lions with five goals this season for a team-best 10 points with four game-winning goals. Henning Sauerbier is Columbia's second leading scorer with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists). Alexander Aurrichio leads the Columbia defense and has a 4-5-1 record with a 1.30 goals against average and a .632 saves percentage. Zach Glubiak has also seen time in net and has a 1-1-0 record. He boasts a 0.80 goals against average with a .846 save percentage.
