The Dartmouth men's soccer team (7-4-3, 3-1-1 Ivy League) hits the road for its final non-conference match of the season at rival New Hampshire on Tuesday (Nov. 1) before hosting league leader, Cornell, on Saturday (Nov. 5) in the final home game of the 2011 season. Game time with the Wildcats is set for 7 p.m. at Bremmer Field and kickoff with the Cornell Bears is set for 5 p.m.

BIG GREEN TIDBITS
Closing out the Non-Conference Slate - The Dartmouth men's soccer team will close out the 2011 non-conference schedule when it takes on in-state rival, New Hampshire, in Durham on Tuesday (Nov. 1). This will be the final non-conference game for the Big Green. Dartmouth has a 4-3-2 non-conference record and concluded the non-conference home slate with a 4-1-1 record.

Cohen Named Ivy League Player of the Week - Sophomore goalkeeper Noah Cohen (Johannesburg, South Africa) earned his first career Ivy League Player of the Week award after going undefeated last week. Cohen picked up his fifth shutout of the season and his second consecutive shutout in a 1-0 win over Colgate and followed that with a 1-1 double overtime tie at Harvard. For the week, Cohen made 11 saves and picked up his seventh win of the season.

Dartmouth Remains in Second In Ivy League Standings - After Saturday's 1-1 double overtime tie at Harvard, the Big Green remain tied for second place in the Ivy League standings. Dartmouth is currently tied with Brown in the standings with a 3-1-1 record and is a game behind league leader, Cornell. Dartmouth has two league games remaining with both Cornell (Nov. 5) and Brown (Nov. 12) and is in the hunt for its 16th Ivy League title and its first since the 2008 season.

Thanks You Class of 2012 - The Dartmouth men's soccer team will honor the Class of 2012 in its last home game of the season against Cornell on Saturday (Nov. 5). The Big Green will honor Arthur Harris (Framingham, Mass.), Aaron Gaide (Avon, Conn.), Maarten van Ess (Marlborough, Mass.), Michael Donelan (Andover, Mass,), Adam Rice (Manalapan, N.J.), Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo Zimbabwe), Kevin O'Brien (Canton, Mass.) and Nick Pappas (Scottsdale, Ariz.) with a ceremony on Saturday.

Big Green Hitting Stride - After a challenging early non-conference slate, Dartmouth has found its stride in the latter half of the season. In its last eight games, Dartmouth has a 6-1-1 record with its lone blemish coming against Yale (Oct. 8). Dartmouth is undefeated in its last four outings.

Dzierzawski Finds the Net - Junior midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) picked up his third goal of the season in Dartmouth's 1-1 tie at Harvard. Dzierzawski, known for being Dartmouth's assist man, has picked up points in each of Dartmouth's five Ivy League games and scored the game-winner against Princeton (Oct. 1).

Mkosana Nearing All-Time Goals, Points Records - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) is one goal away from breaking Dartmouth's all-time scoring record and is one point away from breaking the all-time points record. He is currently tied for the record with 33 career goals and 77 career points. Should Mkosana break the scoring record he will pass Bob Drawbaugh who played from 1951-53 and should he break the points record he will move ahead of Vladdy Stanojevic who played from 1986-89.

Another Tie - Dartmouth's 1-1 tie against Harvard marks the third tie of the season for the Big Green and the second road tie. The Big Green opened the season with a 0-0 double overtime tie at Holy Cross and earned a 3-3 double overtime tie with South Florida in the final game of the Dartmouth Classic.

Big Green Pick up Win No. 500 - The Dartmouth men's soccer team picked up the program's 500th victory with its 2-1 win over Penn (Oct. 15). Currently, the Big Green has a 502-447-110 all-time record. Dartmouth is one of four Ivy League schools with at least 500 program wins.

Cook Approaching 100 Wins -- Head coach Jeff Cook entered the 2011 season with 89 career wins as Dartmouth head coach and is poised to become just the second coach in Dartmouth men's soccer history to reach the 100-win plateau. Thomas Dent, Dartmouth's longest tenured coach, is Dartmouth's all-time winningest coach with 143 career wins in 35 years. After a win over Columbia, Cook is sitting at 96 all-time wins at Dartmouth. The earliest Cook can reach the 100-win mark is in postseason action should the Big Green advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Big Green Players in the Ivy League Rankings - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and junior midfielder Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) are both ranked in the Ivy League rankings. Mkosana leads the league in goals (9) and goals per game (0.64) and ranks second in shots (54), points (19), points per game (1.36). Dzierzawski leads the league in assists (7) and assists per game (0.50). Goalkeeper Noah Cohen (Johannesburg, South Africa) ranks second in saves (58) and saves per game (4.14) while ranking fourth in goals against average (1.09) and saves percentage (.784).

Lucky in the National Rankings - Senior forward Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) ranks No. 38 nationally in goals per game (0.64). Mkosana has been nationally ranked each of the last two weeks.

Captain My Captain - Seniors Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and Nick Pappas (Scottsdale, Ariz.) have been named captains this season. The duo will wear the captain's armband for the Big Green throughout the season.

Looking at New Hampshire - The Wildcats enter Tuesday's contest with a 6-9-2, 1-4-2 America East record after falling to Albany on Saturday (Oct. 29). New Hampshire has dropped its last two contests but has a 5-4-2 record on its home field. This will be the 40th meeting between the teams with the Big Green owning a 23-11-5 series advantage. Dartmouth has won the last three meetings in the series that dates back to the 1920s. Brad Hilton leads the Wildcats offense with 10 points on two goals and six assists. David Schlatter and Steven Palumbo each have seven points on three goals and one assist each. A trio of freshmen goalkeepers lead the New Hampshire defense. Travis Worra has a 6-6-2 record with 58 saves and a 1.20 goals against average. Kyle Lewis has also seen time in the net with a 0-1-0 record.

A Glance at Cornell - Current Ivy League leader, Cornell, enters Saturday's game on a school record 13-game unbeaten streak and a 8-1-5, 3-0-2 Ivy League record after tying Princeton 1-1 on Saturday (Oct. 29). The Big Green own a 33-26-5 record against the Big Red and has won the last four meetings between the squads. This will be the 65th meeting between the teams. Dartmouth is undefeated in the last five meetings at Burnham Field and Cornell is looking for its first win at Burnham since the 1999 season. Daniel Haber leads the Big Red offense with 20 points on eight goals and four assists with three game-winning goals. Jimmy Lannon has eight points with one goal and six assists while Stephen Reisert has seven points with three goals and one assist. In goal for the Big Red is Rick Pflasterer who has an 8-1-5 record with six shutouts. Pflasterer has a 0.60 goals against average and has made 37 saves on the season.
