
Cross High Performance Athletes of the Week: Dysenchuk & Collins

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Cross High Performance Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition. Sophomore Nikki Dysenchuk scored the game-winning goal leading the Big Green to an upset victory over Harvard as time expired. Senior Kat Collins scored her 100th career goal and earned Ivy Offensive Player of the Week honors leading the Big Green to a 2-0 week.
Nikki Dysenchuk (Darien, Conn.), Men's Lacrosse, Sophomore, Attack
Sophomore Nikki Dysenchuk scored the game-winning goal as time expired in a 9-8 win over 17th-ranked Harvard on Saturday. The win helped the Big Green move to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the Ivy League. Dysenchuk also had two goals and an assist in the 12-7 loss at sixth-ranked North Carolina on March 22. He has eight goals on the season and six assists to put him in a tie for third on the team in points with 14. Dartmouth continues conference play when it travels to seventh-ranked Cornell on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m.
Kat Collins (Darien, Conn.), Women's Lacrosse, Senior, Attack
Kat Collins (Darien, Conn.), a senior captain, was dominant for the Big Green, simply overpowering her opponents en route to a 14-point week with 10 goals and four assists, scoring her 100th career goal in the process. Collins did more than score, however, also adding five ground balls, five caused turnovers and five draw controls as she filled the statsheet. Against Oregon, Collins matched her career-high with six goals and tallied eight points total, a career-best. She scored four goals in the first six minutes, including her career 100th. In the win at Columbia, Collins put forth a well-rounded effort, tallying four goals and two assists along with four caused turnovers and five valuable draw controls.
