Women's Tennis
vs Fall Foliage Fest

NEW HAVEN, CONN. — The 63rd-ranked Dartmouth women's tennis team lost its first Ivy match of the season on Sunday in a 6-2 loss at 36th-ranked Yale. The loss dropped the Big Green to 13-8 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Dartmouth is now tied with the Bulldogs for the top spot in the Ivy League with one match left for each team.
After Yale won all three doubles matches to claim an early 1-0 lead, the Big Green hoped their singles play would make up the difference. After senior Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) was edged in a third-set tiebreaker at first singles, Dartmouth could only claim two wins in the match. Junior Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.) won at second singles and freshman Sabrina Stewart (London, England) earned a victory at sixth singles.
The Big Green can still win the Ivy League title outright (and earn the NCAA automatic bid) with a win on Saturday at Harvard, and a Yale loss at Brown. Dartmouth takes on the Crimson at 1 p.m.
