The Tigers knocked the wind out of the Big Green's sails more and more with each set played. Dartmouth managed to pull within two points in the first frame, but dropped the second set by six and the third by eight. The Big Green continue to struggle, having lost their last nine matches.
The visitors hung with the Tigers throughout set one, tying the score four times late. The two squads were caught in a 23-23 tie before Princeton put the game away, taking advantage of a Dartmouth service error and following up with a final kill from Sarah Hanna.
Leading 16-15 midway through the second frame, the Big Green surrendered their lead quickly as the Tigers went on a monster 9-2 run to take a commanding 24-18 lead. A Paige Caridi kill kept Dartmouth alive, but Princeton's Nicole Kincade put the set away on the following point.
The hosts jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the third set, not allowing the Big Green to come closer than four points throughout the rest of the frame. Princeton would eventually take it, 25-17.
Sophomore Alex Schoenberger led the Big Green with 13 kills on the night. Junior Elisa Scudder contributed eight kills with a squad-best four blocks. Senior Alissa Santa Maria and freshman Kayden Cook split time at the setter position, combining for 29 assists in the match.
Dartmouth is back in action Saturday, facing Penn at 4:00 p.m. in Philadelphia.
