Starting Five
1. Dartmouth opens the 2012-13 home slate in Tuesday's

four seasons. Dartmouth has a 287-151 all-time record on its home floor.
2. The Big Green will open the home slate against an opponent from a "major conference" for the first time since the 2003-04 season when they hosted Providence in the home-opener. The Big Green won that game, 64-57.
3. Dartmouth is looking for its first win over a "major conference" opponent since defeating Providence and Kansas during the 2003-04 season; both of those wins taking place at Leede Arena.
4. BYU will be the first of two first-time opponents for Dartmouth this season. The Big Green will also take on Duquesne for the first time later in the season.

Dartmouth vs. BYU
Notables
- This is the first meeting between the Big Green and
Cougars. BYU is a member of the West Coast Conference (WCC). Dartmouth has a
record of 1-2 against current members of the WCC with a win over Pepperdine and
losses to Loyola - Marymount
-Dartmouth will be the first of two Ivy League opponents on tap for the Cougars. BYU will also take on Harvard on Friday in Cambridge, Mass. The Cougars will also play Boston College on its road-swing through the Northeast.
-The Big Green has played a first time opponent in each of the last two seasons. Last season, Dartmouth took on California and Longwood for the first time, both on the road.
A Win Would ...
1. Give Dartmouth its first home-opening win since 2010-11
when they defeated rival, Vermont. Last season, Dartmouth dropped its opener to
New Hampshire, 58-53.
2. Improve Dartmouth to 26-14 all-time in home-openers. Prior to last season's loss Dartmouth had won back-to-back openers with wins over Vermont and Bryant.
3. Put the Big Green at 2-0 for the first time since the 2005-06 season. That season, Dartmouth opened up 4-0 and claimed the Ivy League championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
Scouting BYU
BYU enters Tuesday's game with a 1-0 record after defeating
Weber State, 80-55, in its home opener on Friday (Nov. 9). They had three
players in double figures with Lexi Eaton leading the way with a game-high 24. Kim
Parker Beeston (13) and Morgan Bailey (11) were also in double figures. The
Cougars will be spending the next three games in the Northeast with games
against Boston College (Nov. 15) and Harvard (Nov. 16) scheduled. Head coach Jeff Judkins is in his 12th season
at the helm of the program and has advanced to the postseason each of the last
three years.
Home Sweet Home
Dartmouth kicks off the home slate with Tuesday's game
against BYU. The Big Green are looking for their 26th home-opening win and the
first since the 2010-11 season. Dartmouth head coach Chris Wielgus is 17-10 in
home openers in her second stint.
Schmitt Takes Ivy
League Rookie of the Week Honors
After sitting out the 2011-12 season with injury, sophomore
forward Abbey Schmitt (Winnetka,
Ill.) made one heck of a debut with 11 points and 14 rebounds in the win at
Bryant. She shares the award with Harvard's Temi Fagbenle, who also sat out the
2011-12 season.
One Heck of A Debut
Abbey Schmitt
(Winnetka, Ill.) made the most of her collegiate debut. She racked up 11 points
and a game-high 14 rebounds en route to her first career double-double. In
fact, she becomes the first Big Green rookie to post a double-double in her
collegiate debut since the 2003-04 season when Elise Morrison had 10 points and
11 rebounds against Charlotte. Ironically, both instances occurred on the road.
Let's Make It An
Evening of Dartmouth Basketball

for the men's and women's basketball teams since the 2006-07 season. That
season, the women defeated Colgate, 68-48, while the men defeated Army, 66-58,
in the lone doubleheader that season.
