HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth running back
Kyle Bramble, and offensive linemen
Jacob Flores and
Ben Spiritos were all named to the
Capital One Academic All-District I Football Team for Division I schools as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.
A 5-11, 205-pound native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Bramble has cemented his standing as the Big Green's top running back as he ranks third in the Ivy League with 78.9 yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry. Not only has he run for four touchdowns among his 116 carries, he also leads Dartmouth with four receiving touchdowns while ranking second on the squad with 25 catches and 228 receiving yards. Three times the junior engineering major with a 3.43 GPA has run for at least 100 yards in a game this year, including a career-high 126 in a 27-7 win at Columbia on Oct. 25. Bramble is tied for fourth in the league in scoring (48 points) and fifth in all-purpose yards (114.3 per game). With another 111 rushing yards, he will become the 27th player in Dartmouth history to run for 1,000 in a career.
Flores, a 6-4, 290-pound junior from Arlington, Texas, is the Big Green's starting left tackle and a religion major with a 3.48 GPA, while Spiritos is a 6-2, 305-pound senior from Olney, Maryland, who is majoring in economics with a 3.41 GPA. With Flores and Spiritos at left tackle and right guard, respectively, the Dartmouth offense has been able to score 26.6 points a game while producing a 5-2 record overall and a 3-1 mark in the league, good for a tie for second. The Big Green offensive line has allowed not only Bramble to rank third in the league in rushing, but also quarterback
Dalyn Williams to rank third in the league in passing efficiency (197.5) and fourth in total offense (245.2 yards per game).
The Ivy League had a total of six players named to Academic All-District teams with Dartmouth leading the way with half of that total. Brown had two players honored and Harvard one.
The members of the various all-district teams will now go on the ballot for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 4.
