Women's Tennis Falls to #53 Long Beach St., 5-2

LONG BEACH, CALIF. – The Dartmouth women's tennis team fell to #53 Long Beach St. 5-2 on Thursday evening at the Rhodes Tennis Center.

Dartmouth claimed the doubles point as Katherine Yau and Taylor Ng defeated Ebba Unden and Laura Eales, 8-4. The second doubles pairing of Melissa Matsuoka and Akiko Okuda defeated Krolina Rozenberg and Julie Gerrard, 8-6. Jacqueline Crawford and Suzy Tan almost helped the Big Green sweep the competition, but fell 8-6.

Long Beach State nearly took all six singles flights, but Julienne Keong Si Ying pulled a come-from-behind victory over Eales, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. In the second singles flight, Ng forced a third set but fell to Unden, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Okuda also forced a third set in the fourth flight but was overcome by Rozenberg 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

Dartmouth will conclude its California trip on Saturday against Cal St. Northridge.
