HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth senior Abbey D'Agostino has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree for her work on the track and cross country course as well as in the classroom in 2013-14.
D'Agostino, a psychology major with a 3.72 grade point average, earned a spot on the District 1 First Team from the organization comprised of collegiate sports information directors from across the country.
One of the most recognizable names in Dartmouth and Ivy League sports history, D'Agostino has balanced her outstanding academic career with one of the most impressive athletic careers in recent memory.
D'Agostino will run in the 5000m national semifinals this weekend in Jacksonville at the 2014 NCAA East Regional. If she advances with a top-12 finish, she will move on to the NCAA Championship meet in Eugene, Oregon, on June 14 where she will seek her eighth individual national title, a combined figure that would rank third all-time among women in cross country and track in history.
The Topsfield, Massachusetts, native will graduate from Dartmouth on June 8 with numerous academic achievements to her credit as well, including the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Scholar of the Year Award for both cross country and indoor track during the 2013-14 academic calendar.
