Ivy League races are heating up with the Big Green right in the middle of all the action. Senior Dalyn Williams opened Ivy football play by racking up numerous honors after running over the Quakers of Penn, 41-20. Despite losing in overtime, senior Jill Dayneka played her part for the women's soccer team, scoring her second and third collegiate goals in a 3-2 loss to visting Princeton.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Dalyn Williams, Sr., Corinth, Texas, QB, Football
Jill Dayneka, Sr., Solon, Ohio, D, Women's Soccer
In Saturday's tough 3-2 overtime loss to Princeton on Saturday, Dayneka scored both of Dartmouth's goals. Both marks were the result of Brittany Champagne corner kicks into the box where Dayneka was stationed at the far post for headers on both occasions. The second and third collegiate markers for the Solon, Ohio, native came in the 27th and 43rd minutes, respectively.
