SATURDAY'S GAME
Fresh off winning the 2015 Ivy League title, the Dartmouth men's soccer team will close out the regular season on the road Saturday at Brown.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a 2-0 victory over Cornell last Saturday at Burnham Field. On a night where Dartmouth was honoring its seniors, the Green's upperclassmen propelled them to victory. In the 31st minute, senior midfielder Alberto Gorini netted his first goal of the season. After taking a 1-0 lead into the locker room at the half, Dartmouth scored again, this time for senior Eric Jayne. His shot taken from the top of the box, ricocheted off the cross bar and in for the second score of the night for the Big Green.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
With the victory over the Big Red, Dartmouth dashed Brown's hopes of winning or sharing this year's Ivy League crown. The Bears are coming off a 1-1 (2 OT) draw at Yale last Saturday. Before the tie with the Bulldogs, Brown had won four of its last five games. The Bears' offense is led by a pair of freshmen, as Jack Hagstrom leads his squad with five goals and 11 points on the season. Teammate Matthew Chow has found the back of the net three times and has seven points.
LAST TIME AGAISNT BROWN
On Nov. 15, 2014 the Big Green knocked off Brown at Burnham Field 3-0. Dartmouth took an early lead in the 11th minute and did not look back, as Alex Adelabu blasted a low shot past the Bear's goalkeeper. Adelabu added an insurance goal in the second half as Tommy Johnson scored his first collegiate goal in the 80th minute en route to the dominant victory.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Senior goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland has been solid for the Big Green in net all season. He recorded his eight shutout of the season against Cornell as the Dayton, Ohio native leads the Ancient Eight in save percentage (.889), goals against (6) and goals-against average (0.53).
RISING IN THE RANKINGS
Dartmouth is ranked No. 8 in the nation in team goals against average at .61, as the Big Green are the only Ivy League team in the Top 25 in this category. As a team, Dartmouth is ranked No. 1 in the country in save percentage at .863.
