Boston University Terriers (0-3, 0-0 Patriot League)
Date: Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 – 2 p.m.
Location: Leede Arena, Hanover, N.H.
SATRUDAY'S GAME
After competing in the preseason WNIT Tournament in Arlington, Texas, the Dartmouth women's basketball team continues its non-conference schedule by welcoming Boston University to Leede Arena.
LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday, the Big Green fell to Jacksonville University, 51-44, in the consolation bracket of the tournament. Dartmouth played one of its best first halves of the season and took a 28-17 lead into the locker room at the half. Kate Letkewicz led the offense, scoring 17 points, 12 of which were from three-point range. By the 9:40 mark of the third quarter, the Big Green stretched their lead to 14, but the Dolphins slowly fought back completing a 9-0 run in the game's final minutes.
SCOUTING BOSTON UNIVERSITY
The Terriers have also seen some struggles early into their season as well. Boston University dropped their first game of the season, 77-44, to crosstown rival Northeastern and then fell to Albany, 83-43 before losing the battle of Commonwealth Avenue to Boston College, 58-37. The Terriers are led by junior Meghan Green, who averages 7.7 points per game. Not far behind Green is her teammate Troi Melton who knocks down 6.7 points per game.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE TERRIERS
On Nov. 16 1998, Dartmouth took down Boston University 92-76 in Boston.
LEADING THE PACK
Senior Lakin Roland leads the Big Green in points and rebounds, as the forward has averaged 11 points and eight boards through four games. Letkewicz has enjoyed early success in her second year in Hanover averaging 9.8 points a game. She is also second in the Ivy League with seven defensive rebounds a game.
STARTING STRONG
Dartmouth has played well in the first half of games this year. The Big Green are tied with their opponents for first quarter points with 52. However, Dartmouth has outscored its opponents 72-53 in the second quarter of play.
OFF THE BENCH
In three out of their last four games, the Green has seen significant contributions from their bench players. Most recently against Jacksonville University, the Big Green bench outscored the Dolphins 9-6.
