SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's soccer team will wrap up the 2015 season by hosting Ivy League foe, Cornell on Saturday at Burnham Field.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a hard fought, 1-1 draw to Harvard in double overtime, last Saturday in Cambridge. After a scoreless first half, sophomore Lindsay Knutson got Dartmouth on the board with her second goal of the season. The Crimson responded three minutes later when Emily Mosbacher headed in a Margaret Purce free kick to tie the game. The Big Green were able to stop Harvard's leading scorer Purce, as netminder Casey Cousineau remained perfect the rest of the afternoon, finishing the contest with four saves.
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell is coming off a 2-0 loss at Princeton on Oct. 31 for its first road loss of the season. Currently in fourth place in the Ivy League, the Big Red will wrap up their season this Saturday as well. Elizabeth Crowell is tied with Paige DeLoach for the team lead in goals scored with four. Crowell leads Cornell in points (9), shots (38) and shots on goal (16). Between the pipes, Kelsey Tierney has started all 16 games for the Big Red. She has 52 saves on the season and leads the Ancient Eight with a goals against average of 0.47.
LAST TIME AGAINST CORNELL
On Nov. 8, 2014, Dartmouth fell 1-0 on the road to the Big Red after only allowing just three shots on goal. Tatiana Saunders made two saves in her final game for the Big Green. Cornell's only score of the game came from Brenna Mockler, who sent a 20-yard shot into the far corner of the net with 1:28 left in the first half. Dartmouth finished the second half with 10 shots, but could not get the equalizer.
HONORING DARTMOUTH'S SENIORS
Prior to Saturday's game, the Big Green will honor their four seniors: Corey Delaney, Lucielle Kozlov, Jackie Friedman and Jill Dayneka.
Delaney saw action in two games this year on Aug. 30, against Marist and Sep. 4, versus Vanderbilt. Delaney's goal against Marist helped give Dartmouth a 2-0 victory in its first game of the season. Throughout her four years with the Big Green, Delaney has 12 goals, 13 assists and 37 points.
Kozlov has been a key member to Dartmouth's offensive presence this year. She leads the team in three offensive categories including: goals (10), points (22) and shots (30). Kozlov has also netted four game-winning goals in 14 games for the Green this season. She currently has 20 goals and 48 points spanning her four-year career.
Friedman has been another important part of the Dartmouth offense as she is second on the team with four assists. During her playing career with the Green and White, Friedman has one goal, 10 assists and 12 points.
Dayneka is ending her career with a great performance in her final year in Hanover. She is tied for second on the team in goals with four, and has tailed eight points in 14 games. Over Dayneka's four years at Dartmouth she has one assist, four goals and nine points.
