SATURDAY'S GAME
After a three-game homestand, the Dartmouth women's basketball team will be on the road for two games, starting with Hartford on Saturday at 2 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a heartbreaking, 56-54 loss to Vermont on Wednesday. In a game that saw nine ties and seven lead changes, the Catamounts scored the game-winning layup with just 10 seconds to play. Dartmouth had a chance to win or tie the game, but Amber Mixon's shot that fell for the basket came one second too late. As a team, the Big Green shot 35 percent from the field led by junior guard Fanni Szabo's team high 19 points. Freshman forward Emily Dryden had a nice game for herself, scoring six points and grabbing a team high 10 boards.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Hartford is coming off a 62-28, road loss to Boston College on Dec. 9. The Hawks have been solid at home this season with an undefeated, 3-0 record at Chase Arena. Hartford averages 52.4 points per game thanks in large part to junior guard Deanna Mayza's 13.9 points per game. The Hawks have been solid from the charity stripe this season, ranking third in America East in free throw percentage at .718.
LAST TIME AGAISNT HARTFORD
On Dec. 4, 2014, Dartmouth took down Hartford 49-43 at Leede Arena. With 32 seconds remaining, senior Daisy Jordan made a game-saving block that sealed the victory for the Big Green. Szabo led all scorers that day with 20 points, while Lakin Roland scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the double-double.
STARTING STRONG
Dartmouth has been solid in the first quarter of games this season, outscoring opponents 120-98.
BLOCK PARTY
The Big Green have been improving on defense. Dartmouth has recorded 22 blocks this season compared to its opponents 19.
ROLAND RISING IN THE RANKINGS
Roland has been adding to her career numbers elevating her in some of the Big Green's all-time record rankings. After her game against Vermont, Roland moved into 12th place in free throws attempted with 318. She is also 10th in free throws made with 240. Roland passed Sue Stuebner in rebounds for 14th all-time with 565.
