THIS WEEK
For the second time this season, the Dartmouth women's hockey team will play a stand-alone Tuesday game, concluding its five-game road stand at New Hampshire with a 7 p.m. non-conference game against the Wildcats. This will be the Big Green's final road game of the first half of the year.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth got back to ECAC Hockey play over the weekend with games at Quinnipiac and Princeton. Laura Stacey netted both goals as the Big Green fell to the Bobcats, 7-1, and the Tigers, 4-1. Against Quinnipiac on Friday, Lindsey Allen found Stacey and the latter fired a rocket from the right, tipping over netminder Sydney Rossman's glove and burying into the left corner. This tally broke the Bobcat goalie's four-game shutout streak that had lasted for 291 minutes. In net, Robyn Chemago had 22 saves in the loss, finishing with one more than Rossman. The following day, Stacey gave the visitors a one-goal lead with her shot just under the crossbar midway through the first period. After holding the Tigers scoreless for over 30 minutes, Princeton turned things around and scored a trio of tallies within a five-minute span. The home team would score an empty netter late in the fourth to end the game. Chemago wrapped up Saturday's game with 37 saves.
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
The Wildcats enter Tuesday's contest with a 6-13-1 mark. They opened the year with a 4-3 win over Oakville, but went on to drop seven straight before defeating Vermont on Oct. 30. UNH is on a bit of an upward swing, as it has gone unbeaten in the last four games. In a pair of games against Rensselaer on Nov. 27-28, the Wildcats tied the first, 3-3, before taking the second, 2-1. This past weekend against Merrimack, UNH had a 4-1 victory on Friday and a 2-1 overtime win the next day. Jonna Curtis leads the team with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE WILDCATS
The Big Green opened the 2014-15 season at home against UNH, defeating the Wildcats by a score of 6-2. Allen and Kennedy Ottenbreit led the team with two goals apiece, with the other two going to Karlee Odland and Stacey. Of the six goals tallied by the home team, four came on the power play. Dartmouth was 4-for-5 with the extra skater. Chemago became the first Green goalie to be credited with an assist since the 2008-09 season. Even though UNH holds a 35-15-4 lead over Dartmouth, the Big Green have won three of the last four meetings.
LEADING THE WAY
Allen and Stacey are back to being tied for the team lead with 11 points. Allen has seven goals and four assists, and Stacey has netted four tallies and tacked on seven helpers.
AND IN NET…
Chemago played all 120 minutes this weekend, making a total of 59 saves. Throughout her 11 games and 648 minutes of action, she has made 306 saves, and has a .924 save percentage and 2.31 goals against average. Christie Honor has seen time in net during her first season with the Big Green, appearing between the pipes for 77 minutes. She has made 17 saves, has a .708 percentage and 5.43 goals against average. Dartmouth's third goaltender this season is Shannon Ropp, who has not yet entered a game.
100 GAMES AND COUNTING
Allen and Catherine Berghuis are the first members of the Class of 2016 to reach the 100 career games mark, as Allen is currently sitting at 103 and Berghuis is one behind. Olivia Whitford is the next one to get there, as she is entering Tuesday's game with 99 under her belt. Soon to join are Zoe Brennan (97) and Stacey (93).
