WEDNESDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's basketball team will wrap up a three game homestand when the Big Green welcome Vermont to Leede Arena for a Twin State tilt at noon.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth is coming off a 59-41 loss to Maine at home on Sunday. Senior Lakin Roland led the Green with 19 points and nine rebounds. In what was a low scoring first half, the Black Bears took a 26-12 lead into the locker room at the break. In the third, Dartmouth played one of it's best quarters of the season, outscoring Maine 21-12 thanks in part to a dominate performance by Roland. The final stanza did not go the way the Big Green had hoped for after the Black Bears expanded their lead for good en route to the win.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
Vermont snapped a six game losing streak with a 53-51, victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday. Hayley Robertson led the Catamounts with 15 points, while Sydney Smith grabbed a team-high eight boards and scored eight points. Smith is one of Vermont's top offensive weapons as the freshman guard averages 13.4 points per game.
LAST TIME AGAINST VERMONT
On Dec. 7, 2014, Dartmouth fell to the Catamounts 68-63 in Burlington, Vt. Junior Fanni Szabo led all scorers with 25 points, while seniors Daisy Jordan and Roland also finished in double figures with 14 and 12 points each.
STARTING STRONG
The Big Green have been solid in the first quarter of games this season. Dartmouth has outscored its opponents 107-87 in the first stanza thus far.
LEADING THE PACK
Roland leads the Big Green offense as she averages 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Roland needs just 45 points to score her 900th at Dartmouth. Not far behind her is teammate Szabo with 854 total points. Behind the arc, sophomore Kate Letkewicz leads her team with 16 three-pointers. She is also fourth in the Ancient Eight in defensive rebounds with 6.1 per game.
