THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth men's soccer team heads to the Pacific Northwest this weekend for a pair of contests against Washington and Seattle.
LAST TIME OUT
After scoring just once in the first three games of the season (1-1-1), the Big Green busted out of their scoring funk for three tallies on Sunday afternoon at Albany. Noah Paravicini and Samuel Rosen each came off the bench to score, while Ricardo Gomez was the lone member of the starting 11 to find the back of the net. Stefan Cleveland needed to make just two saves in earning his second shutout of the season.
TRAVEL PARTNERS
Both Dartmouth and Harvard will be making the trip to The Emerald City this weekend and will alternate opponents on Friday and Sunday while there.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Washington comes into its Ivy League weekend ranked ninth in the nation in both the most recent NSCAA and TopDrawer Soccer Polls. The Huskies have seen four different players record their five goals through the first four games this season with James Moberg the only player to find the back of the net more than once. With three shutouts already and 11 for his career, redshirt senior Ryan Herman has been strong in goal.
AGAINST WASHINGTON
This is the first time the Huskies and Big Green have played one another.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Picked to finish first in the 2015 Preseason WAC Coaches Poll, Seattle is off to a 3-2-0 start this season, alternating between wins and losses in its first five games. Hamza Haddadi is red hot with five goals and 11 points this season, factoring in on more than half of the Redhawks' 10 total tallies so far. Four of Haddadi's goals came in the first half of a 6-0 win vs. UC Davis, tying a WAC single-game scoring record set in 1996. Shane Hawthorne has been solid in net this season with a 0.40 goals against average and a .875 save percentage. All three Seattle wins have been via the shutout, while both losses have been 1-0 defeats.
AGAINST SEATTLE
This is the first time that the Redhawks and Big Green have played one another.
PACIFIC TIME ZONE
This weekend will mark Dartmouth's first time in the Pacific Time Zone in nearly five years. The Big Green last played three hours behind Hanover's time on Nov. 28, 2010 when they took on UCLA in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
SHUTOUTS
In all four Dartmouth games this season, one opponent has failed to score a goal. The Big Green have two shutout wins, one shutout tie and have been bested by Colgate, 1-0. The last time the Green played a game when both teams tallied markers was a 2-1 win against Fordham in the first round of last season's NCAA Tournament.
FOLLOW ALONG
Both live video and live stats are available for both games this weekend through the athletic websites of the host schools. Fans can also follow along with the team's official Twitter account: @DartmouthMSOC.
WHAT'S AHEAD?
Upon the team's arrival back in Hanover, they will begin a three-game homestand that will carry into October. It begins on Saturday, Sept. 26 against non-conference opponent Hofstra.
