SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
Maine heads into this weekend having won two of its last three games, most recently defeating Northeastern at home, 68-49. As a team, the Black Bears have averaged 55.6 points per game, compared to their opponents 60. Sigi Koizar is Maine's top scorer, leading her team with 14.4 points per game. On the defensive side of the floor, Naira Caceres averages a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME AGAINST MAINE
On Dec. 6, 2015, the Big Green fell to the Black Bears, 59-41 at Leede Arena despite a resilient third quarter. Lakin Roland led Dartmouth with 19 points and nine rebounds. In what was a low scoring first half for both teams, Maine struck first with a 6-0 run that spanned the game's opening four minutes. A solid second half gave way to a final stanza that did not go the way the Big Green had hoped for, after the Black Bears hit consecutive threes to go up 46-37 with 4:32 left to play. Maine then extended its lead to double digits in the game's closing minutes dashing the hopes of a late comeback
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Dartmouth plays its final road game of its longest stretch of away games of the 2016-17 campaign. The Big Green do not play in Hanover until Dec. 17, when Marist visits Leede Arena.
LONE PINES HEAD TO PINE TREE STATE
Dartmouth junior, Olivia Smith will play in her home state for the second time in her career. On Dec. 10, 2014, the Yarmouth, Maine native played three minutes in a road loss in Bangor her freshman season. This year, Smith is off to a decent start averaging 7.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
NOT COLD AS ICE
Sophomore Isalys Quiñones has performed well for Dartmouth in her new role as a starter. The 6-3 forward has started all seven games this season and recorded her first career double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the Big Green's, 61-51, win to open the season. She averages 8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
The Big Green's lone senior, Fanni Szabo has been climbing on some of Dartmouth's all-time records' lists. With 1,070 career points, Szabo is in sole possession of 16th in the all-time scoring category. She is also sixth in both three-point field goals made and attempted.
LIVE FROM LEEDE
For the first time in recent years, Big Green basketball returns to the airwaves as each home game will be broadcast live on KOOL FM 93.9/96.3. Brett Franklin will serve as the team's play-by-play broadcaster with Jill Glessner on color commentary.
