HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's swimming and diving concluded its first meet of 2018 on Sunday, falling to Penn (235-118) and Yale (296-57).
The Big Green placed sixth in the 200-yard medley relay (1:50.45) to start the morning. Made up of Caroline Poleway, Mackenzie Stumpf, Katie Altmayer and Sophie Smith, the relay touched a tenth of a second ahead of Penn.
Allie Hunter placed highest for Dartmouth in the 400-yard IM, finishing in sixth place (4:37.94). Maggie Deppe-Walker (4:40.56), Melanya Zaraska (4:43.89) and Sarah Finlay (4:55.79) also swam the event. In the 100-yard freestyle, Laura Barthold was third (52.71) and Summer Martin was fifth (53.23).
Stumpf touched in fifth place in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.74) and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.24). In the 500-yard freestyle, Hayley Winter was sixth (5:05.21), Barthold took eighth (5:09.08) and Martin came in 10th (5:24.69).
On the 1-meter diving board, Allison Green was seventh (224.80) and was followed by Sloane Papa in eighth (222.15) and Maggie Pionzio in 10th (210.80).
Dartmouth was third in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:33.55) to end the meet. Composed of Hunter, Barthold, Smith and Martin, the relay out-finished Yale by four full seconds.
Next up for the Big Green will be the two-day Dartmouth Invitational on Jan. 19-20.
