1/23/2019 2:58:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey, Skiing, Athletics
This week's DartmouthSports.com athletes of the week both hail from north of the border. Toronto natives Stephanie Currie and Adrian Clark are both doing their best to make the 2018-19 winter season something to remember. Junior Currie earned her first collegiate victory in the giant slalom at the New Hampshire Carnival. Also a junior, Clark backstopped the Big Green men's hockey team to consecutive shutouts over Colgate and Princeton.Â
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the DartmouthSports.com Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Adrian Clark, Jr., Toronto, Ont., GK, Men's Hockey
Stephanie Currie, Jr., Toronto, Ont., Alpine, Women's Skiing

Junior Stephanie Currie picked up her first collegiate victory by winning the giant slalom at the New Hampshire Carnival this past weekend, just edging out teammate Tricia Mangan by three-hundredths of a second for the gold. The next day, the Toronto native returned to the slopes to claim fourth in the slalom, providing 91 points toward the Big Green's team victory at UNH. In her four races so far this season, Currie has finished in the top five in each one with a pair of stops on the podium.

The Dartmouth netminder turned in another strong performance on Friday night, stopping all 28 shots he faced in a 1-0 shutout win at Colgate. His third shutout of the season and fourth of his career was also his second in as many games, making him the first Big Green goalie since Dan Yacey in 2004 to blank the opposition in consecutive games. His scoreless streak was stopped Saturday at No. 15 Cornell at 128:54. All three of Clark's shutouts this season have come on the road, a first for any Dartmouth team since 1935-36, which was also the last time the program had back-to-back shutouts on the road.
